Shopify developer in Bath

Custom themes, platform migrations, marketplace and 3PL integrations. Built by the person you actually talk to. Based in Bath, working with stores across the UK.

Quick answer: Agora Studio is a Shopify developer based in Bath. Jason Pannell builds custom Shopify themes, migrates stores from Magento, WooCommerce, EKM and OpenCart for a fixed £4,999, and connects Shopify to the systems you already run — 3PLs, marketplaces, accounting, Google Workspace. You see a working build before you pay for it.

What a Shopify developer should actually do for you

Most of what gets sold as "Shopify development" is theme customisation — moving sections around, changing colours, installing apps. That is useful, but it is not where the value is. The work that changes a store's numbers is usually underneath: product data that is structured properly, a checkout that does not leak, integrations that stop someone re-keying orders into a warehouse system, and search that customers can actually find you through.

That is the work we do. Jason has spent the last several years inside Shopify's Admin API, Liquid, GraphQL and the surrounding tooling — Google Apps Script, Node, Python — building the connective tissue that lets a small team run a store that behaves like a much bigger one.

What we build

Custom Shopify themes

Themes built from your brand, not a marketplace template with your logo dropped in. Clean Liquid, sections you can edit yourself in the theme editor, fast on mobile, and no dependency on a page builder app that charges you monthly to keep your own site working.

Platform migrations

Magento, WooCommerce, EKM and OpenCart to Shopify at a fixed £4,999. Products, variants, images, collections, pages, blog posts and a 301 redirect for every URL. Our largest single migration moved 6,400 products in under 48 hours. We build the store first and you pay when you have seen it working — how that works.

Integrations and middleware

Shopify rarely runs alone. We connect it to 3PL and fulfilment platforms, marketplace connectors such as Tradebyte for Zalando and About You, wholesale and B2B ordering tools, inventory systems, and Google Sheets when a spreadsheet is genuinely the right backend. If two systems need to talk and there is no app for it, we write the middleware.

Product data at scale

Supplier feeds normalised, variants generated, images processed and renamed, SEO titles and descriptions written by an AI pipeline and checked by a person. Over 15,000 products processed this way across client stores.

Multi-market and international

Shopify Markets configured for the territories you actually sell into — currencies, duties, translated storefronts, market-specific catalogues and pricing. Currently live across 21 territories and 8 currencies for one client alone.

How we work

Demo first. For migrations and most builds we show you a working store before you commit money. It is quicker to look at a thing than to read a proposal about it.

Fixed price where the scope is fixed. Migrations are £4,999. Defined projects get a number before we start. Ongoing work is a retainer with a monthly cap, not an open timesheet.

You talk to the developer. There is no account manager between you and the person writing the code. Questions get answered by someone who knows the answer.

You own everything. Themes, scripts, integrations, data. Nothing is built so that you have to keep paying us to keep it working.

Questions people ask a Shopify developer

Do you only work with businesses in Bath?

No. We are based in Bath and a lot of our clients are in the South West, but the work is remote and we have clients across the UK and in Australia. Location matters for the occasional face-to-face conversation, not for the build.

Are you a Shopify Partner?

Yes. Agora Studio is a Shopify Partner. That gives us development stores for building and demoing, early access to platform changes, and a direct line into Shopify's partner support.

Can you fix a theme another developer built?

Usually, yes. Send us the store URL and a description of what is wrong. We will tell you honestly whether it is a fix, a rebuild, or not worth touching.

Do you build Shopify apps?

We build private apps and custom integrations for individual stores — middleware, sync jobs, reporting, wholesale ordering. We are not an app-store vendor.

What does ongoing support cost?

Retained work is scoped to a fixed monthly fee with a defined scope, reviewed quarterly. Get in touch with what you need covered and we will put a number on it.
