Full Shopify commerce build for the UK division of the global fashion brand. Automated product data pipeline processing thousands of SKUs from master data files. Enterprise image processing through Cloudinary and Bynder DAM integration. AI-generated product descriptions and SEO content via OpenAI.
The Scotch & Soda UK operation required a complete commerce platform capable of handling their extensive product catalogue. We architected a Shopify store with a custom product data pipeline that processes master data files — parsing complex SKU structures, mapping sizes across EU and UK conventions, normalising variant attributes, and generating Shopify-ready imports via Matrixify.
The image processing pipeline connects to Bynder DAM for asset retrieval and Cloudinary for automated resizing, format conversion, and CDN delivery. Product descriptions and SEO metadata are generated through OpenAI, reducing manual copywriting time by over 90% while maintaining brand voice consistency across the catalogue.
The data pipeline handles multi-column master files with complex header structures, conditional logic for seasonal and permanent collections, and automated metafield population for product attributes that drive on-site filtering. Size mapping standardises disparate conventions — converting num-num to waist+length, EU/IN to letter sizes — into a consistent Shopify variant structure.
The entire workflow runs through Google Apps Script, orchestrating data flow between Bynder, Cloudinary, OpenAI, and Matrixify without manual intervention.
